On Sunday, May 21st, we had our 16th Annual Bowlathon at Tarpon Lanes. All 24 lanes were filled, many with our wonderful supporters from past years, and also some new teams. I hope the new Gold Sponsors enjoyed our event, and will be with us again next year. We had a full house, and our A.F.I.R.E. students are still talking about the great time they had. As always, we had some great items on our "Chinese Auction" table (Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Lightning collectibles), Devil Ray tickets, gift cards for area restaurants and stores, along with dolls, DVD players, radios and boom boxes, etc. I want to thank all the staff at Tarpon Lanes, who have been so supportive of A.F.I.R.E. each year. Thank you to Jenny & Sherri for the donation of food, thanks to Brenda and the Tarpon Lanes employees for the donation of soda. Thank you Publix of River Crossing for the donation of cakes. Thank you to A-Plus Fireplaces, Granite & Marble for the donation of a cast-iron barbecue grill which we auctioned off. Thanks also to Janeane who was our M.C. for the day. She did a great job. Thanks to Kay & Barbara at the door prize table. Thank you to Denise, Paul, John, Sandy, Jean, Pat, and everyone else who worked so hard that day and all the months leading up to it. Thank you to everyone who donated items and money. All money raised helps run our day training program for the developmentally disabled.
