On Sunday, May 15, 2011, we held our 21st Annual Bowlathon. This was our first year at Hudson Bowl, and hopefully the beginning of many more years with the owners, Dennis & Susan Baldwin. We filled 25 lanes with many of our long-time supporters, and also some new teams this year. I hope the “first-timers” enjoyed our event and will be back with us again at next year’s Bowlathon. It is always held on the third Sunday in May (next year will be May 20, 2012).

We had a full house, and our A.F.I.R.E. students are still talking about the great time they had. As always, we had some great items on our “Chinese Auction” table (Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays and Lightning collectibles), many gift cards for area restaurants and stores, collectible doll, HP printer/scanner/fax/copier, and many gift baskets.

I want to thank Sue & Dennis Baldwin and their staff at Hudson Bowl, it was a long and tiring day.

Thanks also to John who did a great job (as always) as our M.C. for the day. Thanks to Sandy J. & Jean who wrapped all of our door prizes, and to Sheila for taking care of our door prize table. Thank you to Denise, Debby, Lenny, Sandy S., Amanda, Pat, for setting up, selling tickets, taking pictures, and everyone else who worked so hard that day and all the months leading up to it. Thank you to all of our families and friends who donated raffle items or money to purchase gift items. All money raised helps to run our day training program for the developmentally disabled.
